Speed Limits The posted speed limit is absolute. However, driving significantly below the posted limit can also result in penalties. Where a minimum speed sign (最低速度) is posted, you must not drive below 50 km/h. Note: the standard maximum speed for regular passenger cars on expressways is 100 km/h (120 km/h on designated premium sections).
Following Distance Maintain at least 100 meters between you and the vehicle ahead at 100 km/h. This is roughly a 4-second following distance.
Prohibited Vehicles Certain vehicles are prohibited from expressways: mopeds, bicycles, pedestrians, and vehicles under 50cc.
Emergency Stopping If you need to stop on the expressway, use the emergency stopping lane only. Turn on your hazard lights immediately.
Entrance/Exit Ramps Always use acceleration lanes when entering and deceleration lanes when exiting. Never stop on these lanes.
